OS: Windows 7 x64
Printer: Canon MP730
Problem: The driver for MP730 printer isn't installed via Windows Update. MP730 is connected locally.
But the driver for the scanner was installed successfully via Windows Update, and scan function worked fine.
The Canon download site does not have a driver for Win 7 x64. What is the use of an add-on module if the basic printer driver doesn't exist?
Attempted the 'Troubleshoot' option (right-click on the printer icon) and got the following sequence of outcomes:
- Install a driver for this device --> chose 'Apply this fix'
- Troubleshooting has completed --> 'Problem found: CanonMP730 doesn't have a driver'
Even though MP730 is a old model, mine's still working fine, and i see others in this community report similar issues.
It is supposed to be compatible with Win 7 though it didn't say it was limited to x32 only:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/win7/CompatCenter/ProductDetailsViewer?Name=Canon%20MultiPass%20MP730%20All-in-One%20Printer&vendor=Canon&Locale=1033&ModelOrVersion=8297A002&BreadCrumbPath=canon%20MP730&Type=Hardware&tempOsid=win7
The Canon site also states that the driver is supposed to be auto updated via Windows Update for Win 7 x64:

Any advice?

Same Error, Multi is out, only function as a simple printer. I ask me, why: the driver was 100% ok in Win7. But now, when i try to install, Win10 returns with error, meager description: the Signature is not correct!!!!!
The signature was correct in Win7, nothing changed, why now suddenly incorrect;
only reason: the wise man from MS sit on high horses.

Oh Heaven, oh God!!!
Fehler bei der Geräteinstallation:
Info in the common table: Die Treiber für dieses Gerät wurden nicht installiert. (Code 28) How to install kodi on windows 10 troypoint.
Der Treiber konnte nicht installiert werden, weil er entweder nicht digital oder nicht richtig signiert wurde. Wenden Sie sich an den Hardwarehersteller.
Canon said, customer, its your printer and the only problem of Win10. We sold it 100% ok for Win7.
Discuss it with MS and Win10.

Situation:
There are 2 entrys in the list of the device-manager, one in the Listing for Printers, and one obove in the listing of other devices at the beginning. It is the first entry and there is a '?' on the first place and a sign
' ! /' for error next the only text 'MP730', without 'Canon' and so on..., only 'MP 730'.
' ! /' for error next the only text 'MP730', without 'Canon' and so on..., only 'MP 730'.
Down in the entry for printers looks all ok with the text 'Canon Inkjet MP 730' and no sign of errors.
To install the 'Scanner' I tried all possibilities i found in the www, but no one was a bit helpfull. includet your info, my friend. You too, look only on the printer-procedure, but not on the scanner side.
No one thinks about the installation of the 'SCANNER', and that the Twain-files are not includet in Win10.
Sri about my broken language, but i am not very trained in us/gb-english.
